Racking Systems
Pallet Racking Uprights
Pallet racking uprights, also known as frames, form the vertical structure of a pallet racking system. They consist of two upright columns joined by diagonal bracing and are fixed to the floor using base plates. Uprights vary by height, depth, hole pattern and profile, which are key identifiers when matching or replacing racking components.
Pallet Racking Beams
Pallet racking beams are the horizontal members that connect between uprights and support the pallet load. Beams vary by length, profile and load capacity and usually include end connectors that hook into the upright. The beam profile and connector style are often the quickest way to identify the racking manufacturer.
Beam Safety-Lock Pins
Beam connectors and safety clips secure pallet racking beams into the upright frame and prevent accidental dislodging during forklift operation. Connector design, number of lugs and clip style differ between manufacturers and are critical for identifying compatible racking systems and ensuring safe installation.
